Birendra Pani Born in 1969, Orissa. Education: Graduated in printmaking with a B.F.A. from Kalabhavan at the Viswa Bharati University, Shantiniketan in West Bengal, and received his Master's degree (first class with distinction) in Graphics from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the M.S. University, Baroda. Selected Exhibitions: ‘Boy Dancer: Convergence & Continuum’, Gallery Espace, New Delhi in 2007; ‘Risk, The Double Edge of Society’ was at Gallery Espace, New Delhi in 2006; ‘The Indian Art Show’, London; ‘Metrospective Show’, New Delhi in 2006; ‘In Short’ and ‘Divine Inspiration’ at Hacienda Gallery, Mumbai; ‘Now’ Indian Contemporary Artists, New Delhi; Show for Tsunami, Baroda; ‘Present and Future’ NGMA, Mumbai; ‘Use and Throw’ installation show, Gallery Sara Arakkal, Bangalore and many more. He has won several awards and his works are represented in several public and private collections. Birendra Pani also dabbles in animation and filmmaking, and has worked with UTV in Mumbai. He has participated in major shows in India and abroad and is the recipient of many awards. In 2001 he was awarded the Junior Fellowship of the HRD Ministry by the Government of India.
